Inspired by the cross-cultural music of hip-hop acts like Jay-Z and Punjabi MC , producer, hip-hop artist, and singersongwriter Roman Kahlone draws from a childhood
immersed with R&B and hip-hop, and hazy memories of his
parents’ favourite Bollywood soundtracks.Roman’s music brings together the punchy, three minute precision and technical production of the Western pop and hip hop industry with an ethnic Twist. Tracks like Thousand Miles utilise cinematic strings, whilst the more hiphop orientated Indian Girl and Desi Boyz keeps the energy flowing. Roman Kahlone creates multicultural crossover pop inspired by classic hip hop acts like N.W.A. , as well as Indian songwriters like Gurdas Maan , ideal for charts lovers wanting a gateway into other musical worlds.
Hip hop artist and pop Singer-Songwriter Roman Kahlone grew up surrounded by both the top 100 Billboard Charts and the big musical numbers of Bollywood; and also inspired by cross cultural breakthrough acts such as Jay-Z and
Punjabi MC, he hopes to bring Desi pop, hip hop, and the Western charts together in a fusion of R&B and Hip Hop.
Kahlone is inspired by acts such as N.W.A. and Punjabi Folk singer Gurdas Maan, but a significant musical memory
was his first rock concert- Guns N’ Roses. Combined with inspiration from acts like Eminem and his parents’
appreciation of Bollywood Music, the contrast between his musical influences allows him to create with an open mind
and see his art from a new angle. Drawing from hip-hop and RnB as well as creating more downtempo numbers such as Thousand Miles, Kahlone provides flair and variety in his music as he mixes South Asian pop beats with hip-hop energy. Singing in both English and Punjabi, he speaks to a modern, global audience united by a love of great beats and catchy, hook-filled songs.
